Select Program
The Madison Magic SC Select Program is designed for players who are passionate about soccer and ready to take their game to the next level. Select is ideal for motivated players seeking advanced coaching, a higher level of competition, and the challenge of league and tournament play. Teams are formed through a competitive tryout process for age groups 11U–14U, following MAYSA (Madison Area Youth Soccer Association) guidelines. Tryouts are held each spring, and player offers are made shortly after evaluations are complete.
Season Schedule & Commitment
Participation in the Select Program is a full-year commitment that includes both the Fall and Spring seasons:
• Fall Season: Early/Mid-August through the first week of November
• Spring Season: Late March/Early April through the first week of June
*Winter Futsal League is highly encouraged for select teams and is based on team interest.
Session I: Nov-Dec and Session II: Jan-Feb
Each team trains a minimum of twice per week, with 1.5-hour sessions led by a professionally licensed coach. Players are expected to maintain consistent attendance for practices and games to ensure team development and competitive performance. Each season includes 8 league games and at least two weekend tournaments per season (four across the year).
Program Fees
Annual Registration: $800
covers both fall and spring seasons, league registration, referee costs, and coach fees. Payment is due in full or through a club-approved installment plan.
Additional costs include:
• Uniforms: Ordered through Stefan’s Soccer Store prior to the fall season.
• Tournament Fees: Determined by the number and type of events each team participates in, split equally among families.
Team managers will provide details and payment timelines. The program fee covers everything described above through the calendar year. Any additional optional events such as camps, clinics, or extra tournaments will be team-specific.
Coaching & Team Support
All Select teams are led by licensed, professionally trained coaches who emphasize player development, tactical understanding, and sportsmanship. Each team is supported by a volunteer team manager and team treasurer and the Magic club administrator, ensuring smooth communication and logistics throughout the season.
League & Travel
Select teams participate in the MAYSA League, competing against clubs from across the southwest region of Wisconsin. Approximately half of each season’s games are home games, while the remainder involve travel to one of the 35+ MAYSA member clubs.
